What We Believe

The Bible
We believe the Bible is a unique book written by people who were inspired by God. It reveals who God is, shares His love for us, and teaches us how to live a life full of purpose. We see it as completely true and without error.

God
We believe in one true God who is alive and personal. He created everything and cares deeply about us. God is perfect, loving, and just. He shows Himself in three ways: as the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit, each with their own roles but all being one in essence.

Jesus Christ
Jesus is the Son of God who came to Earth to show us what God is like. He was born from a virgin through the Holy Spirit and lived a perfect life without sin. By dying on the cross, He took the punishment for our mistakes, making it possible for us to have a relationship with God.

The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is God’s presence with us today. He inspires the writers of the Bible, helps us understand its message, and guides us in our lives. When someone believes in Jesus, the Holy Spirit enters their life, helping them grow and live in accordance with God’s will.

Humanity

We believe that every person is created in God’s image and has great value. At the beginning, humanity was good and had the freedom to choose. However, we made choices that led us away from God, introducing sin into the world.

Salvation
Salvation is the way we can reconnect with God. It’s a gift that anyone can accept by believing in Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Through His sacrifice, we can receive forgiveness and a new life. This relationship with God allows us to discover our true purpose.

The Church
We see the church as a community of believers who come together to support each other and share the message of Jesus. It’s a place where we can grow in faith, worship together, and help each other live out our beliefs in everyday life.

Baptism & Communion
Baptism is a public declaration of faith, where someone is immersed in water to symbolize their commitment to following Jesus. Communion is a way for us to remember Jesus’ sacrifice through sharing bread and juice, symbolizing His body and blood.

The Lord’s Day
Sunday is our special day to gather and celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. It’s a time for worship, rest, and connecting with God both individually and as a community.

The Future
We believe that God has a plan for the future. One day, Jesus will return, and everyone will be raised to stand before Him. God will judge us with fairness and righteousness, bringing everything to completion according to His divine purpose

As a single mom raising both boys and girls, I’d always worried about finding the right environment where my kids could see strong role models—especially for my boys, who don’t have an active father in their lives. I wanted a place where they could be guided by men who show them what respect, kindness, and strength look like, and where my girls could look up to confident, faith-filled women. MHBC became that village for us. From the first time we walked through the doors, I felt surrounded by people who genuinely cared about my family. The mentors here go above and beyond—they’re there at game nights, youth programs, even after-school tutoring sessions, teaching my kids things I can’t alone. The support I’ve received as a single mom has been overwhelming in the best way possible. MHBC isn’t just a church; it’s our home base, filled with people who rally around us, who secure my children in love and faith. We’ve found our village, and I am so grateful

Becoming an empty nester left me with a mix of excitement and uncertainty—I had all this newfound time and energy but wasn’t quite sure where to focus it. Then I found MHBC, and everything clicked. During my first Sunday, a group of friendly folks invited me to join them at an upcoming service project. I was hesitant, but they made me feel like family from the start. Now, I’m part of a community garden team, attend weekly Bible studies, and have found incredible friendships with others in a similar season of life. MHBC isn’t just a church for me; it’s a place where I can stay active, connect with people who understand this new chapter, and keep growing in ways I hadn’t imagined. Finding MHBC has brought joy and purpose to my life as I flourish in this new stage!
